Dr. Szucs is board certified by the American Board of Radiology and a fellow of the American College of Radiology and the Society of Abdominal Radiology. He remained on the faculty at VCU as Assistant Professor of Radiology in the abdominal imaging section and director of genitourinary radiology for 10 years before joining Commonwealth Radiology in 2000. He has an appointment as Clinical Assistant Professor of radiology at VCU. He served for a number of years as the book review editor of Radiology. He is a past President of the Richmond Radiological Society, the Virginia chapter of the ACR and the Richmond Academy of Medicine. He is presently the Vice-President of Commonwealth Radiology and past President of the Medical Executive Committee where he continues to serve on the executive committee of the medical staff as well as numerous other hospital committees. His special interests include gastrointestinal radiology and abdominal imaging and he is a member of the Society of Abdominal Radiology and the Society of Body CT and MRI. Dr. Szucs is a Richard is a Councilor and is the Chairman of the Legislative and Public Relations Committee for the Virginia chapter of the American College of Radiology. Dr. Szucs is also the President Elect for the Medical Society of Virginia.

Dr. Caley is board certified by the American Board of Radiology and is a fellow in the American College of Radiology. During her fellowship, Dr. Caley coauthored a musculoskeletal imaging book. She was a clinical instructor at Harvard Medical School and assistant clinical professor of radiology at Brown University prior to joining Commonwealth Radiology. Dr. Caley served as the President for the Medical Staff at Richmond Community Hospital during 2018 and 2019, and continues to serve on the Medical Executive Committee and the Credential’s committee. She is a past president of the Richmond Radiological Society. She has been a certified densitometrist with the International Society of Clinical Densitometry since 1998. He completed his diagnostic radiology residency at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard Medical School, where he served as the Chief Moonlighting Resident. He completed his fellowship in Vascular & Interventional Radiology at the University of Michigan. During Residency, he served as a State Delegate to the AMA Annual Meetings for several years, and a Representative to the Committee on Legislation, Alternate Trustee, and Governing Council Member for the Massachusetts Medical Society. He also served on the Hospital Quality Improvement Council at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. He has coauthored several articles in Radiology journals. His clinical focus is Interventional Radiology and special interests are Interventional Oncology, portal hypertension, peripheral arterial disease, male and female genitourinary interventions (uterine fibroid & prostatic artery embolization). graduated from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a BA degree in Zoology and he earned his M.D. degree from The U.N.C. School of Medicine. He then completed his diagnostic radiology residency at The Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC. Dr. Piggott is board certified by the American Board of Radiology. Upon completion of his residency, he soon became a partner and subsequently served as Senior Partner and President at Halifax X-ray Associates in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina. He practiced for 29 consecutive years at Halifax X-ray Associates. In addition to serving on his hospital’s Medical Executive Committee and as the Radiation Safety Officer, Dr. Piggott has served on many hospital committees including Credentials, Patient Care, Safety, Quality Council, and Patient Education. His special interests include body imaging and neuroimaging.
Dr Rakesh Agarwal completed both his diagnostic radiology residency and Magnetic Resonance Imaging Fellowship at Virginia Commonwealth University. He has worked as a Staff radiologist at the McGuire Veterans Administration Hospital for the past 10 years. During that time, he served as the Director of MRI Safety and helped develop the cardiac MRI program. He currently serves as director of MRI safety for Commonwealth Radiology and director of Computed Tomography (CT). His special areas of interest include cardiac MRI, coronary CTA, prostate imaging, Body MRI and non-vascular percutaneous interventions.

As a resident he first-authored a manuscript publication, engaged in book contributions, presented at educational conferences, participated in multiple lecture presentations, and co-authored in multiple scientific exhibits. He served as the Radiological Society of North America representative for his residency program, and actively participated in the resident and fellow section of the Society of Interventional Radiology. During the course of training he attained the distinction of Alpha Omega Alpha, served as Chief Radiology Resident, and was selected for the M. Pinson Neal Jr. MD Outstanding Resident Award by the Department of Radiology. Dr. Patel graduated from University of Georgia with a B.S. in Biology. He received his M.D. from Medical College of Georgia. He completed a surgical internship at Orlando Health. He completed his Vascular and Interventional Radiology training at Virginia Commonwealth University.
Dr. Patel specializes in hemorrhoid artery embolization, a minimally invasive treatment option for internal hemorrhoids. His other areas of expertise include embolization for uterine fibroids and benign prostatic hyperplasia, deep and superficial venous disease, varicose vein treatment, hepatobiliary disease, percutaneous and endovascular treatment of cancer, vertebral compression fractures, as well as treatment of pelvic congestion syndrome and male varicoceles.
In his spare time, Dr. Patel enjoys running, biking, playing tennis, travelling, and spending time with his wife and baby.
Taylor Powell, MD joined Commonwealth Radiology, PC as of August 2023. Dr. Powell graduated from Yale University with an integrated residency in diagnostic and interventional radiology in June of 2023.
Dr. Powell received his medical degree from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2017. He completed an internship in generals urgery at VCU in 2018. While attending medical school at VCU, he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society.
He graduated with Distinction from the University of Virginia with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry in 2013.
Dr. Powell has experience in all diagnostic modalities with interests in vascular imaging, including vascular ultrasound.
He has a certification as a Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation (RPVI). Dr. Powell’s arterial interventional experience includes the breadth of embolizations including prostate, uterine, gastrointestinal, pulmonary, trauma, and oncologic as well as pulmonary artery thrombectomy.
His venous interventional experience includes venous thrombosis and venous insufficiency treatments, filter placement and retrieval, TIPS creation and revision, dialysis access interventions, and the spectrum of venous lines. Interventional oncology experience includes radioembolization, chemoembolization, ablations, and biopsies. His training also includes the breath of gastrointestinal, genitourinary, hepatobiliary, and transplant interventions.
Dr. Powell and his wife are from Virginia, and he is looking forward to practicing in the Central Virginia area.
Hassan Huq, MD joined Commonwealth Radiology, PC in May 2023. Dr. Huq was most recently a radiologist with Riverside Radiology and Interventional Associates, Inc. located in Columbus, Ohio. Before his work with Riverside Radiology and Interventional Associates, Inc. he was a radiologist with Virginia Radiology Associates, PC. in Manassas, Virginia.
Dr. Huq completed his Fellowship in Body Imaging and his radiology residency at Hershey Medical Center, Pennsylvania State University. He completed an Internship from the Department of Surgery and he received his Doctor of Medicine at the University of Virginia School of Medicine.
Dr. Huq received his Bachelor of Science, Magna Cum Laude from Department of Biochemistry at the Virginia Tech College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
Dr. Huq interprets X-rays, CTs, MRIs, Ultrasound studies, screening, and diagnostic mammography, including tomography and GI Fluoroscopy. He also performs image guided biopsies and drainages and large joint arthrograms for CT or MRI.
Dr Huq enjoys soccer, computers, reading and enjoying life with his wife and children.
earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Virginia Commonwealth University and her master’s degree in nursing from Old Dominion University. She is credentialed with the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners as a board-certified family nurse practitioner. Before joining Commonwealth Radiology Janice worked as a nurse for 11 years in the interventional radiology department at Memorial Regional Medical Center, where she provided care to patients that underwent imaging guided procedures in multiple modalities of radiology. Janice is a member of the Virginia Council of Nurse Practitioners and American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She is also certified as a medical surgical registered nurse by the American nurse credentialing center. Outside of work Janice enjoys traveling and spending time with her family.
Hope is a board-certified nurse practitioner. She earned her master’s degree from Virginia Commonwealth University with a concentration in adult-gerontology acute care.
During her 17-year nursing career, she worked in a variety of hospital settings including cardiopulmonary telemetry, medical-surgical, and step-down units. Ten of those years were in interventional radiology at Memorial Regional and St. Mary’s hospitals. Here she discovered her passion for interventional radiology, which provides patients with options that can reduce risks, shorten recovery times, and improve health outcomes when traditional options are not possible.
She joined Commonwealth Radiology in 2022, where she specializes in performing a wide range of imaging guided minimally invasive procedures. She enjoys educating patients on the different treatment options this specialty can provide.
Hope is a native of Hanover. She enjoys traveling, reading, and staying physically active, but most of all spending time with her husband and twin sons.

She pursued the field of Interventional Radiology due to her interest and experience with ultrasound guided vascular access, and has since developed a passion for performing minimally invasive procedures that support a wide variety of patients each with unique needs. She is a Hampton Roads native and in her free time enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and two dogs.
Miranda has been a physician assistant for commonwealth radiology since 2021. She received a Masters in Physician Assistant Studies from James Madison University and a bachelors degree from Spelman College in Atlanta Georgia.
Miranda has worked for over 10 years as an exceptional physician’s assistant. She specializes in Interventional Radiology Procedures, Miranda is native to Virginia and loves being closes to all her family.

Mia Matthews Foster is an experienced, board-certified Physician Assistant with a career spanning 12 years in interventional radiology, obstetrics and gynecology, and women’s health. Mia specializes in minimally invasive computed tomography (CT), ultrasound, and fluoroscopically guided procedures, and has been with Commonwealth Radiology, PC, since February 2022.
Born and raised in southwest Virginia, and educated in the commonwealth, Mia earned a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from the University of Virginia, and a Master of Physician Assistant Studies from James Madison University. She has also served on the faculty as a clinical preceptor for the PA program at the James Madison University College of Health and Behavioral Studies. Mia is passionate about addressing health disparities in communities facing barriers and she is equally committed to helping cultivate the next generation of healthcare professionals that are mindful, empathic, enthusiastic and engaged. She leads with integrity and inclusivity, and sets a high standard for patient care, quality, and safety.

Board certified Physician Assistant and Radiologic Technologist with over 7 years of healthcare experience. Kayla is an Interventional Radiology (IR) Physician Assistant, and she is experienced in both the clinical and procedural aspects of the IR specialty.
She is responsible for providing patients with pre and post operative IR procedures care. She is responsible for performing fluoroscopy and ultrasound guided procedures such as lumbar punctures with intrathecal injection of medication, myelograms, paracentesis, and thoracentesis. Also responsible for
performing removals of tunneled central venous catheters and tunneled pleural and peritoneal catheters. Performing GI fluoroscopic procedures including Esophagrams, upper GI, small bowel, Loopogram, and hysterosalpingogram.

Dr. Singh graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia and attended the University of Virginia School of Medicine in Charlottesville, Virginia. After graduation he completed a medical internship in the transitional year residency at Trident Medical Center/Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina. He returned to the University of Virginia and completed a residency in diagnostic radiology. He then completed a breast imaging fellowship at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee and a second fellowship at the University of Virginia in body imaging.
Dr. Singh is a subspecialized radiologist in breast and in body imaging, where he has an emphasis in abdominopelvic cross-sectional imaging. He practices the full scope of breast imaging . His interests within body imaging are within abdominopelvic cross-sectional imaging including prostate MRI, rectal MRI, female pelvic MRI, and multi-phase CT and MRI of the liver, kidneys, and pancreas.
Dr. Lefcoski is a board-certified diagnostic radiologist with experience in general radiology and nuclear medicine imaging. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology and Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and his Doctor of Medicine with Distinction in Research from the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. His postgraduate training includes internal medicine training at Vidant Medical Center followed by diagnostic radiology residency training at the University of Tennessee Medical Center.
Dr. Lefcoski practices as a teleradiologist in Huntsville, Alabama. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and son and exploring the Huntsville area.
Dr. Birkenfeld graduated from UT Health and Science Center in San Antonio in 2013. She then moved to Houston where she completed preliminary Medicine internship at Baylor college of Medicine, diagnostic radiology residency at UT Houston, and body imaging fellowship at MD Anderson. She served as chief resident for her diagnostic radiology residency in 2017-2018. She has a special interest in oncological body imaging. She currently works from Houston as a teleradiologist.
Dr. Oancea graduated from Purdue University with a B.S. in Radiological Health Science. She received her M.D. from Indiana University School of Medicine. She completed a medicine internship at Indiana University, followed by residency in Radiology and a fellowship in Vascular and Interventional Radiology. Dr. Oancea is dual board certified in both Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology.
Dr. Oancea specializes in Uterine Fibroid Embolization (UFE), a minimally invasive treatment option for uterine fibroids. Her other areas of expertise include angiography, treatment of superficial and deep venous disease, complex biopsy, and spinal augmentation for compression fractures. She also specializes in diagnostic vascular imaging, including CTA, arterial and venous doppler, and MRA.
In her spare time, Dr. Oancea enjoys running, beach combing, jewelry making, and spending time with her husband and children.
Dr. Jonathan Ha is an interventional radiologist with over 13 years of experience specializing in minimally invasive image-guided procedures. He completed his diagnostic radiology residency (2007–2011) and interventional radiology fellowship (2011–2012) at Virginia Commonwealth University Health System. Since 2012, he has served veterans as Director of Interventional Radiology at the Richmond VA Medical Center.
His clinical expertise includes treatment of peripheral vascular disease, embolization of uterine fibroids and enlarged prostates, kyphoplasty, TIPS, and a wide range of oncologic interventions such as ablation, TACE, and radioembolization.
Outside of work, Dr. Ha enjoys fishing, mountain biking, and golf.
Sarwat Hussain, MD, FRCR, FACR, FCPS is a graduate of King Edward Medical College. He is a pioneer in bringing modern radiology to underserved regions, an innovator in healthcare quality, an academic researcher and teacher across 4 continents.
He has established Global Academy of Healthcare Quality to improve patient care in Pakistan.
Dr. Hussain is focused on serving underprivileged communities around the world. In 2015, he launched the Journal of Global Radiology with the mission to improve access to medical imaging for the two thirds of the world’s population who have no access to radiology services. More recently, he established the Global Academy of Healthcare Quality (GAHQ) with an intent to introduce a culture of Continuous Quality Improvement in South East Asia and the Middle East.
Clinically an interventional radiologist, Dr. Hussain has served as Chairman of Radiology at Aga Khan University, Pakistan; King Saud University, Saudi Arabia; and as Chief Medical Officer at Imam Al Hujjah Hospital, Iraq bringing modern Radiology to the regions. Additionally, he has served as Medical School Faculty and helped establish the divisions of Community Radiology at Harvard University and Boston University. Over his career, he has served as department Chairman for 22 years and Vice Chair or Division Director for 21 years.
Dr. Ami Sethi is a Board-Certified Neuroradiologist. She completed her medical education at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine and fellowships in Neuroradiology at George Washington University Medical Center. Dr. Sethi is also certified by the American Board of Radiology in both Diagnostic Radiology and Neuroradiology.

Nicholas (Max) Moore, M.D. is an Interventional Radiologist who joined Commonwealth Radiology, P.C in July 2025. A native of central Virginia, Dr. Moore grew up in Prince George County and has called Richmond home for over 15 years. He is proud to care for patients in the communities where he was raised. He completed his integrated Interventional and Diagnostic Radiology residency at Virginia Commonwealth University Health System (Medical College of Virginia), where he also earned his medical degree.
Dr. Moore’s clinical interests span a wide range of minimally invasive image-guided therapies, including uterine fibroid and prostate artery embolization, kyphoplasty and pain management, venous disease treatments for varicose veins and thrombosis, and interventional oncology such as radio-embolization, chemo-embolization, and ablation. He also performs hepatobiliary and renal interventions, and has advanced training in managing pulmonary embolism, transplant interventions, and traumatic injuries.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Moore enjoys spending time with his wife and son, traveling, and staying active through sports of all kinds.
